HMRC Releases Tax Administration 'Strategy' Document

The UK tax authority, HM Revenue and Customs, has released a new strategy document, which sets out how it will transparently and consistently administer the tax regime.

The tax authority said its three main objectives are now to: maximize revenues and bear down on avoidance and evasion; transform tax and payments for taxpayers; and design and deliver a professional, efficient, and engaged organization.

The strategy document sets out how it will continue to provide targeted support to taxpayers, how it will take forward the modernization of tax administration, and how it will continue to engage cooperatively with tax professionals and intermediaries.
